What is the jumpthrow bind?

The jumpthrow bind is a script that can be bound to one of your preferred keys in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO). It is widely used to perform precise grenade throws while jumping, making it an indispensable skill for CS:GO players.

How to use jumpthrow bind?

Normal Range Jumpthrow

The normal range jumpthrow is the standard technique that allows you to throw grenades accurately over obstacles or at distant targets while jumping.

Short Range Jumpthrow (Alias Bind)

For close-quarters combat or specific tactics, you can configure a short range jumpthrow using an alias bind, which enables precise grenade throws in tight spaces.

Medium Range Jumpthrow (Alias Bind)

The medium range jumpthrow, achieved through an alias bind, provides a balance between the normal and short range techniques, allowing you to adapt to various in-game situations.

Step 3: Save the Bind
To ensure your jumpthrow bind is saved, add it to your autoexec.cfg file located in the “cfg” folder within your CS:GO directory. Open the file with a text editor, add the bind command, and save the file.

Is jumpthrow bind legal?

The legality of using a jumpthrow bind in CS:GO depends on the specific rules of the game server or tournament you are playing on. In most cases, jumpthrow binds are allowed in official matchmaking and are not considered cheating. However, it’s essential to check the rules of the specific server or tournament to ensure compliance.

64 or 128 Tickrate

Another crucial consideration when using the jumpthrow bind in CS:GO is the tickrate of the server you are playing on. Tickrate refers to how often the game server updates information and processes player actions per second. CS:GO servers commonly operate at either 64 or 128 tickrate.

For the jumpthrow bind to work optimally, it’s essential to understand the tickrate of the server. In general, a 128 tickrate server provides a more accurate representation of player actions and is preferred for competitive play. If you primarily play on 128 tickrate servers, you may need to fine-tune your jumpthrow bind timing for the best results.

On 64 tickrate servers, the jumpthrow bind can still be effective, but you may notice slight differences in the timing compared to 128 tickrate servers. It’s advisable to practice jumpthrowing on both server types to adapt your technique accordingly and maintain precision in your grenade throws.
